Needle vs microneedle mesotherapy — the main differences
Needle mesotherapy delivers active ingredients (such as vitamins, minerals and hyaluronic acid) with needles directly into the deeper layers of the dermis (to a depth of 1–4 mm). The products therefore reach the place where their effect on regeneration, hydration and elasticity is most effective. This makes results such as wrinkle reduction and improved skin tone more pronounced and longer-lasting. It is, however, a more invasive treatment, which can mean more discomfort and a longer recovery.
Microneedle mesotherapy, on the other hand, works mainly on the superficial layers of the skin. It uses much smaller and shorter needles that make microscopic punctures in the epidermis and the upper layer of the dermis. Although it does not deliver active substances as deeply as needle mesotherapy, it effectively stimulates the skin to regenerate and produce collagen in its shallower layers. It is the ideal solution for improving skin texture and reducing fine lines, scars and stretch marks, but its effect on deep ageing processes is smaller.
Who is facial needle mesotherapy for?
Facial needle mesotherapy is one of the most valued treatments in aesthetic medicine because it works where traditional cosmetics cannot reach. By delivering active ingredients precisely under the skin, it clearly improves its condition, reduces wrinkles and restores a youthful glow.
This treatment is excellent for people whose skin is:
- Dehydrated and dull.
- Showing the first wrinkles or a loss of firmness.
- Struggling with pigmentation, acne scars or a grey, sallow tone.
- Needle mesotherapy can also be used preventively on young skin, to delay the ageing process and keep the skin looking healthy.
Results
After the very first treatment you will notice subtle changes — the skin becomes more hydrated and tighter. For full and lasting results a series of 3 to 6 treatments is usually recommended, 2–4 weeks apart. After the whole course the skin is clearly smoother, firmer and radiant, and wrinkles and pigmentation are less visible. It is a great alternative for people looking for natural rejuvenation without more invasive procedures.
